Go on a blind date with your home page.
February 18, 2008 | Posted by: Lee
It occurred to me recently that visitors to your web site react to and with your site a lot like how they react in real life to a variety of different situations. Here's one for you...
How your home page is like a blind date:
- You have high expectations and hope it's exactly what you are looking for.
- You expect it to be prompt and don't like to be kept waiting.
- You make a snap judgment at first site about whether it meets your expectations.
- If it looks nice but has no substance, it's not for you.
- If it spends more time talking about itself than about you, you'll probably bale out early.
- If you have to provide all your personal details before it will answer any of your questions you'll get scared and look elsewhere.
