Go on a blind date with your home page.

It occurred to me recently that visitors to your web site react to and with your site a lot like how they react in real life to a variety of different situations.  Here's one for you...

How your home page is like a blind date:

  1. You have high expectations and hope it's exactly what you are looking for.
  2. You expect it to be prompt and don't like to be kept waiting.
  3. You make a snap judgment at first site about whether it meets your expectations.
  4. If it looks nice but has no substance, it's not for you.
  5. If it spends more time talking about itself than about you, you'll probably bale out early.
  6. If you have to provide all your personal details before it will answer any of your questions you'll get scared and look elsewhere.
Got any more?
