The term “weblog” turns ten years old today.

Sorry, I can't resist picking up this meme. No self-respecting blogger could.
Not only was the term "weblog" coined ten years ago today, but Jorn Borgen, the man who did the coining (and looks every bit of the part of a James Joyce and articifical intelligence expert), has handed out his top ten blogging tips for new bloggers as sort of a reverse birthday present. Even though the first one makes me scratch my head a bit, since he's been doing this longer than anyone else on the planet (and doing it prolifically—the man has a supplemental blog to his already extensive original one), who am I to argue?
