The Smiley Face: The Ultimate Design
May 9, 2006 | Posted by: Lee
Consider the Smiley Face. I think it’s the ultimate in design.
So simple. Conveys a gazillion different messages just by changing one element. Anyone can do it. Anywhere. Works in any medium - pencil, snow, spray paint, Twizzlers.
Is there anything else so elegant, simple and universally understood?

And just typing the above made me think that what might be simpler and more elegant (but obviously related and derivative)… emoticons!
