Re-examining the About Page
September 6, 2006 | Posted by: Nicholas
Spending hours on the phone with Dell support doesn’t have to be a complete waste of time. While navigating my way through their levels of support hell, I came across an article on the ubiquitous, much-maligned web site About Page.
Just as someone should tell Dell not to make their customers sit through an hours long waking nightmare in order to exchange a machine that never worked to begin with, the article tells you not make your site visitors read through a boring, useless About page. Make their visit to this page worthwhile. Most of all, make the content on the page important to them and relevant to your overall message. Otherwise, what’s the point?
