Quote of the week:  Who controls the Internet?

As I do research and flit from one site to another looking for good information, I often run across great quotes (and sometimes even cartoons) from people in the industry.  I've been collecting these and thought I'd start sharing some of my favorites.

"The cultural and technical principle embedded in today's Internet is that it is neutral in the sense that the people who use it have the power to determine its use, not corporations or the network operators."

Jonathan Zittrain
Co-director of the Berkman Center for the Internet and Society, Harvard Law School.

This was said back in 2003 in a New York Times article.  Was Jonathan right?  Do people really have control and not corporations?
