On web development and kitchen appliances

"I was a baker. You can’t just turn up the oven and expect to take the bread out sooner."

- Eric Danielson, QA lead, NorthTemple.com, commenting on the futility of trying to rush some kinds of development.

I would change Eric's description to all kinds of development.  This also is applicable to all stages of the creative process. You don't want your solutions coming out half-baked.
