Your site is often a prospects first experience with your company.  And, hopefully, they come back a number of times to gather more information as they try to decide if what you have to offer meets their needs.  So is your web site doing its job?  In the spirit of Dave Letterman's Top 10 List, here are the top 10 reasons to fire your web site.

10.  Downloading a whitepaper requires more information than getting a security clearance from NASA.

9.   Analytics show your most visited page is "file not found".

8.   You could wallpaper your bathroom using a print out of your home page.

7.   You constantly have to send out search parties to rescue visitors who get lost.

6.   It takes 4 weeks and a note from your mother to update content.

5.   The most common result from searching your site is        .

4.   The word "our" appears 12, 500 times and the word "your" appears twice (both times on the whitepaper form).

3.   In a head to head match up, visitors reported finding Beowulf easier to understand than your site.

2.   Nine out of 10 visitors leave the site in less than 2 minutes, and the 10th visitor was your mom checking out your bio.

And the number 1 reason to fire your web site (insert drum roll here):

1.  Your logo is the biggest thing on the page.
